The VH-4T 400 kW turbine hybrid-electric powerplant represents the next leap in electrified propulsion, engineered for high-performance commercial and military aircraft requiring substantial onboard power. From regional air taxis and cargo transporters to large-scale military drones and tactical aircraft, the VH-4T is designed to enable aircraft to fly farther, operate more efficiently, and achieve greater mission capability.
This cutting-edge system provides up to 400 kW of continuous electrical power in a compact, lightweight package. The VH-4T is built around a Pratt & Whitney helicopter engine, ensuring reliability and a proven operational history. Its self-contained design integrates the engine, generator, inverter, and thermal management systems, to simplify installation for manufacturers. The powerplant supports versatile power output modes, including series and parallel setups, allowing for tailored distribution between electrical and mechanical power to meet specific customer requirements.
Development of this dual-use hybrid powerplant is supported by multiple Department of Defense programs focused on applying the VH-4T in military applications where high-performance is a requirement. Since 2024 VerdeGo Aero has been working closely with the U.S. Air Force on maturing the VH-4T, including testing designed to mirror both military and FAA civilian certification processes.
